This Thing called Rest

Rest and sleep are the gateways to true wellbeing. Make it work for you and create a new vitality.

Achieving the “Gold Sleep”

We are all looking to recreate the “gold sleep”. You know the one; the one where you awake in the morning feeling totally rested, refreshed and READY for the day. A sense of peace within, a stillness emboldened with energy and a smile at the fabulousness of how we have slept. This is the gold standard of sleep.

It is also the thing most easily sacrificed to our modern lifestyle. The most common stress seen these days and often the least identified, is that of sleep deprivation. Sleeping poorly is now the new “normal”.

The art of Chinese Medicine is to restore balance to the body. Restoring normal function to the body allows the whole body to operate at its optimal level. Reducing the effects of stress, calming the mind and relaxing the body are all necessary in order to create the “gold sleep”. Acupuncture can help relax the body and mind, and therefore reduce some of the impact of stress.

Chinese Medicine has been around for thousands of years and over that time, the Classics have accumulated much wisdom on the art of living well and being well. Sleeping well is inherently important in the process of living well and being well. The Classics speak of how to sleep, when to sleep and how to best manage the energy levels for optimal functioning. This along with a comprehensive individualised diet plan, breathing and mindfulness exercises, all contribute to a more relaxed you … and therefore a better sleep.
